Application process for PhD candidates
Interested candidates have two possibilities to apply to the MIM PhD Program:
as Track I candidate
Fill out the online application via the Life Science Zurich Graduate School. Deadlines for application are May 1 and November 1.
Selected candidates are invited for an virtual admission interview taking place in week 24 resp. 50 (onsite visits in week 28, resp. 3). Passing the admission interview grant access to all PhD programs within the Life Science Zurich Graduate School.
as Track II candidate
Students, who found a PhD position while applying directly to a group leader, are track II candidates. They are welcome to apply to the MIM PhD Program within six months after being accepted by a PI of the MIM PhD Program. A complete application contains a CV, three recommendation letters (one from the future supervisor) and the complete online application.The Steering Committee will decide on the acceptance of the student or whether a further examination by an admission interview is necessary.
Application process for Principal Investigators
UZH and ETH faculty members and principal investigators, working in the field of Immunology, Microbiology or Virology, with an own SNF research grant are welcome to apply to become member of the MIM PhD Program.
As MIM members are obliged to contribute to the MSc/PhD teaching program of UZH and ETH the applicants have to point out which courses they will offer to the program (or are already part of).
